About Knollwood

Our mission is to enhance the
well-being, independence, and personal fulfillment of residents by providing excellent housing, health, wellness, and supportive services consistent with the caring spirit of the founding churches.

Knollwood is a full service nursing center that really feels like home. Our 82-bed nursing center features a state-of-the-art healthcare environment which provides clinically strong sub-acute care and long term care. Our dedicated and compassionate staff provides each resident with personalized care that ensures a swift and successful recovery.

Friendly nurses and staff

Our long-term relationships with local hospitals and health insurance providers, as well as our electronic records system, enable patients to transition seamlessly from the hospital to Knollwood. Upon admission, each resident is assigned a team of caregivers, which remains consistent throughout his or her stay. This allows residents and caregivers to bond and really get to know each other. This continuity of relationships is reassuring for patients and allows us to accurately assess each patient’s progress.

Our residents settle into our bright and airy semi-private rooms in specific units which are dedicated to short-term, sub-acute care, and long-term care. The spacious rooms are configured such that the beds are arranged toe to toe, giving each patient maximum privacy and his or her own window. We do have fully private rooms available on a limited basis. Learn more about our amenities.

History

The state-of-the-art Knollwood Nursing Center opened its doors in January 2002. Its tradition began when the Salem Community Corporation, which was founded by the First Baptist Church and the Salem Covenant Church, purchased Knollwood Nursing Center. Knollwood Nursing Center and the adjacent Briarwood Retirement Community create a comprehensive continuing care retirement community that can serve a myriad of senior living needs. In keeping with the spirit of our original mission, Knollwood welcomes all members of the greater Worcester community.
