Knollwood Nurses Earn Certification from National Alliance of Wound Care


Worcester, Massachusetts – Knollwood Nursing Center is pleased to announce that staff nurse Jennifer Farrell has successfully passed the examination to become Wound Care Certified (WCC) by the National Alliance of Wound Care (NAWC), which is a national credential held by the most professional wound care practitioners in the United States. The intensive course was delivered by the Wound Care Educational Institute in February. This certification is the professional recognition that Ms. Farrell possesses the qualifications to deliver the highest standard in wound care to residents.

Jennifer Farrell, R.N., WCC, Unit Manager, received her degrees at Worcester Technical Institute and Quinsigamond Community College. She has been employed at Knollwood Nursing Center for eleven years. Patricia Foley-Martel, Knollwood Administrator, pointed out that “Wound Care Certification recognizes exceptional training that will aid doctors and staff in using the most appropriate treatments to achieve the best outcomes. We’ve seen Jennifer implement her knowledge immediately. We’re extremely proud of her achievement.”
